Comfort!!!

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;

                                             we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:35-39

I was asked to share my favorite verse this weekend at our church women's retreat. I don't just have a favorite verse but a part of scripture that is so strong for my faith.

Starting with Romans 8:35-39 and seeing that my Savior hand picked me and that NOTHING I do or anything or anyone else can take me from my Savior Jesus' hand. What pure comfort that is. This knowledge gives me such a motivation to serve the Lord. This verse also then ties in to my other favorite verse that helps comforts me.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

I have reasons for putting this verse after 38-39 even though it comes before them. When I see that I'm hand picked and nothing can separate me it gives me such comfort especially during trials and difficult times we face in our lives. I feel God's hand knowing that He works ALL things for His good, for those who love him, who have been called. I know I have been called, and I know God loves me. I might not understand, and we have only been given a small eye view of God's bigger and most amazing time line ever. With this understanding though I can serve my God freely, Although it gives me such a drive knowing He has the wheel.
